The Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum, faithful to its mission of promoting the richness of nature and Greek gastronomy, organizes, in collaboration with the Municipality of Meteora and the Committee for the City of Truffles, the Panhellenic Truffle Festival.
A unique experience that attracts thousands of visitors during its four-day duration.
The Festival, with a host of artistic events, seminars on truffles and mushrooms, children’s events, truffle hunting, and of course the highlight on Saturday, where dozens of chefs cook and offer free dishes with truffles and mushrooms, has become an institution for the region and a point of reference for the whole of Greece.
All events are always free to the public, thanks to the valuable contribution of volunteers and sponsors.
However, organizing such a large event requires significant human and financial resources in order to maintain the high quality, continuous enrichment, organization, and ultimately the sustainability of the Festival.
On this basis, and after discussion among all those involved, it was decided that the Panhellenic Truffle Festival would now be held every two years.
In the period between two Festivals, smaller themed events, such as gastronomic presentations, truffle hunting, etc., will be organized and offered free of charge to the public.
This will keep the spirit of the big festival alive and maintain contact with friends and visitors throughout the year. It is also entirely consistent with the fact that Kalambaka has been designated the City of Truffles.
The first initiatives will be announced shortly.
So, we continue this unique journey of flavors and culture and look forward to seeing you at our small and large gatherings!
